The Isobel Wylie Hutchison Collection
The Isobel Wylie Hutchison Collection features handmade products made specifically for Carlowrie Castle in Scotland, which were inspired by Isobel's life and travels. As part of the collection Hannah designed and knit jumpers and scarves which were inspired by Isobel's arctic travels and her contributions to botany. The jumpers were inspired by Isobel's life at Carlowrie and feature motifs from the castle itself, wool spun in a Scottish Green Energy Mill and natural dyes derived from Heather, Scotland's most iconic plant. The scarves were inspired by Isobel's lively watercolour paintings of Alaska and feature plant dyes native to both Alaska and Scotland which have been prepared in a traditional way. Each colour has been hand-dyed and each product has been knit by Hannah to create unique handmade pieces.
This project was in collaboration with the Craft Design House and the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.
